Shelburne

Incorporated in 1768 this hilltown still features many fine aspects of old New England. Dotted throughout the community are working dairy farms, apple orchards and sugarbush. In Shelburne Center, on the "Trail," is a landmark white spired church which has been the subject of artists and photographers for generations. Right by the churches Little Mohawk Road which can lead the traveler to the "Patten District" with its spectacular views. Both naturalists and hikers appreciate the well-marked trails and varied terrain of the High Ledges,  Mt. Massamet and Wilcox Hollow. The historic Village of Shelburne Falls, with its Bridge of Flowers and Glacial Pot Holes is part of the town of Shelburne.
