The INTO LIGHT Project @ Hotel Downstreet
Beginning March 13th through June 30th, Hotel Downstreet will host The INTO LIGHT Project, a nationally recognized art exhibition that brings humanity, dignity, and awareness to the opioid crisis through portraiture and storytelling.
Each portrait represents a life lost to overdose — created from photographs provided by families who chose to share their loved one’s story so that others may see the person behind the statistics.
This particular exhibit features individuals from across Massachusetts, including 10 people from our local community. Their stories remind us that this crisis is not distant — it touches families, friends, and neighbors right here at home.
The Into Light Project works to reduce stigma, open conversations around addiction and recovery, and remind us that every life carries meaning, history, and love.
We invite you to visit, take a moment, and experience the stories behind the portraits.

The INTO LIGHT Project fights the stigma of drug addiction by organizing public exhibitions featuring portraits of those lost to addiction, paired with narratives to learn about their lives. We educate the community about addiction as a disease.
