Susan B. Anthony’s 206th Birthday Celebration will take place on Sunday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the G.A.R. Memorial Hall at the Adams Free Library. (92 Park Street, Adams, MA)

Dr. Rachel MacNair, a Quaker scholar and peace psychology expert, will speak about Susan B. Anthony’s Quaker upbringing and how those values shaped her lifelong advocacy for women’s rights.

More About the Keynote

Dr. Rachel M. MacNair is a nationally recognized psychologist, sociologist, author, and Quaker scholar whose work focuses on peace, ethics, and the human impact of violence. She is a graduate of Earlham College, a historic Quaker institution, and holds a doctorate in psychology with interdisciplinary training in sociology. Dr. MacNair has received multiple professional honors for her scholarship, including the Outstanding Service Award from the American Psychological Association. Her research and writing explore the moral, social, and psychological foundations of nonviolence and reform, themes that closely reflect the Quaker values that shaped Susan B. Anthony’s life and work.
