The Tuba Thieves Film Screening

A hybrid narrative and documentary film, The Tuba Thieves (2024) is a sonic portrait of Los Angeles. From 2011 to 2013, tubas were stolen from Los Angeles high schools. This is not a story about thieves or missing tubas. Instead, it asks what it means to listen.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Alison O'Daniel, the film's director, and Will Schmenner, film scholar and head of public programs.

A 5:30 pm reception in the Manton Research Center reading room precedes the event.
