The Myceliad by Great Small Works

The Myceliad by Great Small Works From veterans of the legendary Bread and Puppet Theater, Great Small Works presents The Myceliad -- a visionary puppet epic tracking an artist crew thrust out to sea by crises roiling the country. Using hand-manipulated overhead projections, digital imagery, over-life-sized brown paper puppets, and an original sound score, they uncover the connective survival strategies of fungi to navigate a diverse, rapidly changing world

About the Artists

Founded in 1995 by a collective of six Bread and Puppet Theater veterans, Great Small Works creates theater that keeps art at the heart of public life. Drawing on folk, puppet, avant-garde, and popular traditions to tackle urgent contemporary themes, the collective performs across theaters, parks, street corners, and museums. Whether staging miniature living room shows or gigantic outdoor spectacles with dozens of volunteers, their productions cultivate community resilience and champion theater as a vital vehicle for participation in democracy.

The Myceliad will be performed by Great Small Works members John Bell, Trudi Cohen, Jenny Romaine, Roberto Rossi and Mark Sussman, joined by vocalist Gideon Crevoshay and technician Amy Liou.
