Ramble Fest - Columbus Day Weekend!
Held during the peak of the Fall Foliage season, RambleFest offers two events: an awesome street festival and the Greylock Ramble, a hike to the summit of Mount Greylock. For family fun during the fall foliage season, come to Adams. Adams is Columbus Day Weekend!
Until then, here is what you can expect.
Party on Sunday October 13th
Held outdoors at the Adams Visitor Center at 3 Hoosac Street, admission is free to a festival full of music, food and fun in celebration of autumn in the Berkshires. There will be live musical acts, local craft beer and local wine, great food, produce, outdoor recreation and craft exhibitors. Activities include a toasty campfire with marshmallows, pumpkin decorating and other activities for the kids. Leashed pets are welcome, so it’s fun for the whole family! Historic Train Rides by Berkshire Scenic Railway will also be available, right across Hoosac Street at Adams Station. The festival runs from noon to 5, rain or shine.
Live Music!
Even It Up will be the headline act at RambleFest 2024. From 2:30 to 5. Prepare to dance!
The always entertaining Jack Waldheim will be our opening act, starting at noon.
Local Craft Beer & Wine
Always featured local craft brewers and vintners. New to RambleFest this year is Antimony Brewing based in nearby Lenox.
In addition, non-alcoholic beverages will be offered at many vendors, including fresh cider from Adams’ own Jaeschke’s Orchard and smoothies from Berkshire Blends.
Train Rides!
Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum will be offering train rides on their Hoosac Valley Service vintage rail cars. Their station is directly across Hoosac Street from RambleFest. Rides available all RambleFest weekend. For tickets and scheduling information, please visit their website.
Hike on Monday October 14th - The Greylock Ramble
Since 1965, people that love the fall colors, fantastic views and a great hike in the woods gather at base of Mount Greylock on Columbus Day for the annual Greylock Ramble. It’s the ultimate way to experience autumn in the Berkshires. Free shuttles take hikers from Adams Visitor Center to and from the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center from 8 am to 4 pm. Using the shuttle is strongly recommended, as parking near the trailhead is very limited. Shuttles will take hikers to the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center from 8 am to 1 pm, and return hikers to the Visitor Center until 4 pm. Pets are permitted on the hike, but not on the shuttles.
Tips
The Greylock Ramble takes place on the Cheshire Harbor Trail which is the gentlest path to the summit. However, the round trip is 6.6 miles, moderately strenuous and takes four to five hours. It can be significantly colder and windier at the summit, please dress according. Leashed pets are permitted on the hike, but not on the shuttles. Certificates of Accomplishment will be available for free at the summit!
