Q Li Holmes: Recent Works -Art Exhibit
Born in China and a longtime resident of Ashfield, MA, Q Li Holmes received artistic training in both China and Japan. She began practicing Chinese calligraphy at a young age, which provided an early exposure to the abstraction of form and the use of lines to represent images—a foundation that remains central to her paintings today. Her recent work represents an evolution of her experiences in both the East and the West.
In the artist's own words: “My art was seeded in China and Japan, then grew and blossomed in the hills of New England. I love the barns, trees and animals—especially the birds.”
Q Li’s work has been featured on WGBY Discovery Channel and is held in the permanent collections of the New Hampshire Institute of Art and various hospitals in Boston. Currently represented by numerous galleries throughout New England, she has also led seminars at the Smith College Museum of Art and the Norman Rockwell Museum.
