Print Room Pop-Up: Andrea Chénier
The events of Umberto Giordano’s opera Andrea Chénier unfold within the historical context of the Reign of Terror, one of the bloodiest periods in France’s history. Over everyone’s heads (or rather, necks) loomed a terrifying device: the guillotine. Before watching the opera, embrace the macabre and immerse yourself in the anxieties of the time by viewing a special pop-up exhibition of works on paper depicting scenes of decapitation and execution.
