Mountain Mindfulness Program Series: QI Gong For Winter Wellness with Jala
Qi Gong (pronounced Chi Kung) is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Qi is life force energy. Qi Gong is the Art/Practice of moving this Energy through the body using attention, intention and gentle physical movement.
The Winter Wellness Practice includes:
- A series of movements that will help keep the body in balance and healthy through the winter season by boosting the immune system and bringing the whole body into balance.
- Ways to help the body fight off infection and alleviate symptoms if you become ill through body tapping and self-massage for lymphatic drainage. Think of it as a free prescription right at your fingertips!
- A meditation on gratitude that can be done either standing, seated or laying down.
Most Qi Gong movement can be done from a chair so please, don’t let that stop you from joining. This practice is beneficial for everyone no previous experience required. Studies show we are healthier when we are in community!
This is a gentle practice that will leave you feeling Energized and Balanced. Looking forward to practicing together!

About Your Guide:
Jala Pritchard a Berkshires native, returned after a 30-year career as a pharmacist in Pittsburgh, PA. Yoga, Qi Gong, and meditation all played a vital role in Jala’s ability to maintain health and happiness while juggling life! Seeking to share this, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Himalayan Institute in Pittsburgh in 2014. She is currently studying Qi Gong with Ruby Avers, a 30-year Qi Gong teacher in Housatonic, MA and YoQi a fusion of yoga and Qigong with Marissa Cranwell.
