Drawing Closer: Photo-Focus

Drawing Closer: Photo-Focus Manton Study Center

The Manton Study Center for Works on Paper welcomes artists of all experience and skill levels to find inspiration in thematic selections from the Clark’s collection of works on paper. This month, we pay special attention to photography. From miraculously lifelike daguerreotypes to hazy Pictorialist confections and crisp modernist snapshots, this selection runs the gamut of early photographic movements and techniques. Enjoy an open session to participate in the tradition of copying earlier artworks or choose to practice fundamentals and explore ideas.

Basic materials are provided. Artists bringing their own supplies should note that only graphite pencils are allowed in the Study Center.

Free. Advance registration required.

Registration opens one month prior to event date.
