Drawing Closer: Drawing the Line Manton Study Center for Works on Paper

The Manton Study Center for Works on Paper welcomes artists of all experience and skill levels to find inspiration in thematic selections from the Clark’s collection of works on paper. October’s theme, “Drawing the Line,” features a variety of prints and drawings highlighting the importance of different types of linework in building a composition. From small, cross-hatched lines that suggest shading, to swooping and unbroken lines that define an entire form, this artistic building block is not to be overlooked. Enjoy an open session to participate in the tradition of copying earlier artworks or choose to practice fundamentals and explore ideas.
Basic materials are provided. Artists bringing their own supplies should note that only graphite pencils are allowed in the Study Center.
Free. Advance registration required. Capacity is limited.
