Art Exhibit – Dana Schildkraut: Colorful Countenance

Art Exhibit – Dana Schildkraut: Colorful Countenance Colorful Countenance is a collection of masks and sculptures that use bold colors and dreamlike imagery to create unusual characters, setting a scene where the viewer is left to explore possible narratives.

Dana Schildkraut's original masks!

Dana is a visual artist and educator based in Bennington, VT, where she primarily sculpts masks from clay, paper, and/or paper mache. Dana juxtaposes dreamlike imagery that invites the viewer to make meaning of surreal elements, and through anthropomorphism investigates humans' connections to animals.

Dana's work is quite arresting and we are excited to exhibit her pieces. The juxtaposition of her work alongside Astrid's is going to be a very interesting investigation into the natural world and how we interpret it.

Sculptor, painter and educator Dana Schildkraut investigates the complex connections between humans and animals through art.  Using a variety of materials such as clay, papier-mâché, Bristol board, collage and paint, she creates anthropomorphic masks and sculptures with a range of human expressions, encouraging viewers to create their own meanings and interpretations.
