Annual Massachusetts Sale Tax Free Holiday Weekend

The annual Massachusetts sales tax holiday weekend has been set for August 8th & 9th

This is when shoppers will not have to pay Massachusetts sales tax on most purchases less than $2,500.

The tax holiday does not include some specific goods or services, including motor vehicles, motorboats, meals, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, marijuana products, telecommunications services, natural gas, steam or electricity.

What’s eligible, and what’s not, on a tax holiday

Only items bought for personal use are eligible under the tax exemption, according to the Department of Revenue.
