Nolumbeka Project

Honoring Northeastern Tribal Heritage
The Nolumbeka Project envisions a Connecticut River Valley where the histories, cultures, and persistence of Northeastern Indigenous Peoples are recognized and celebrated, and where all beings are acknowledged as kin.

MISSION

We host annual gatherings and educational events featuring Indigenous presenters sharing their knowledge, cultures, and histories. We work to protect and preserve the land, especially the ancient multi-tribal villages of which Wissatinnewag is an integral part.

Our Work

To promote a deeper, broader and more accurate depiction of the history of the Native Americans/American Indians of the Northeast before and during European contact and colonization to the present

To create and promote related educational opportunities, preservation projects and cultural events; and to work in partnership, as much as possible, with the tribes.
