Start the new year off with a weekly dose of art and inspiration! Cures for Strange Times: An Art and Wellness Workshop Series takes place online at 5:30 pm EST on Thursdays throughout January (January 7, 14, 21, and 28). These virtual workshops bring wellness and creativity together in hands-on creative exchanges. Pairing wellness practitioners from the Northern Berkshire community with local artists and makers, these interactive experiences center reflection, play, making, and embodiment as forms of learning and being. Featured pairs include a yoga teacher and a jazz musician, an art therapist and a comic book illustrator, a farmer and a chef, and a florist and a naturalist. Learn more and register here.

An Art and Wellness Workshop Series

5:30 p.m. Thursdays throughout January 

This series of virtual workshops brings wellness and creativity together in hands-on creative exchanges. Pairing wellness practitioners from the Northern Berkshire community with local artists and makers, these interactive experiences center reflection, play, making, and embodiment as forms of learning and being.

Workshops will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28. Each program lasts approximately 1.5 hours. No prior experience is required.

 

Jan. 7: Art historian and yoga instructor Emily Kamen partners with multi-instrumentalist and composer Zachary Hann for a live yoga session accompanied by experimental music and inspired by Joan Mitchell's 1969 painting Sunflower VI. Jan. 14: Artist Anna Moriarty Lev and art therapist Kaye Shaddock explore making comics as a form of self-exploration. This workshop features several short exercises with prompts to inspire you to create art that explores identity and personal history. Register here.
Jan. 21: Botanist Joan Edwards and floral designer Wendy Hybl Fannin call attention to the beauty of the winter landscape in this discussion and workshop featuring foraged and locally-found botanicals. Register here.
Jan. 28: In this workshop, Williamstown farmer Tu Le of 328North Farm and Aaron J. Oster of A-oK BBQ in North Adams, MA, bring mindfulness to the table with a conversation highlighting bold flavors and localingredients. Register here.
