Stephen Danker
Stephen Dankner received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Music Composition from the Juilliard School in 1971. A list of works since 1990 includes eight symphonies, twenty string quartets (Quartets 3-10 premiered by the Amernet String Quartet), a saxophone quartet (commissioned by the Mana Saxophone Quartet), six concerti (one each for piano and violin, two for cello, an E flat clarinet Concerto commissioned by Louisiana Philharmonic E flat clarinetist Stephanie Thompson, and a Concerto for alto saxophonist Lawrence Gwozdz; a Symphony for Saxophone Chamber Orchestra; four major song cycles; sonatas for violin (3), piano, alto saxophone, viola, cello; four piano trios; a piano quartet, piano quintet, saxophone quintet (saxophone quartet with piano) and five orchestral tone poems. Dankner was the composer-in-residence with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra from 2004-2007.
Arneis Quartet
With “a conviction that commands attention”(Fanfare), the Arneis Quartet performs an eclectic range of programs from the standard to contemporary, including commissions of new works and interdisciplinary collaborations in New England and throughout the world. Playfully named after the Arneis grape—a varietal that is difficult to grow, but which yields an exquisite white wine—the Boston-based Arneis  Quartet has brought their energetic approach and programming to traditional concert venues as well as salon style concerts and community outreach since 2009. Winners of the 2010 John Lad Prize and silver medal at the 2012 International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition, the Quartet has received fellowships at the Aspen Center for Advanced String Quartet Studies and the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music; other festivals attended include the Juilliard Quartet Seminar, the Deer Valley Emerging Quartets and Composers Program, and the Banff Centre Chamber Music Residency. Committed to new music, they have received a grant from Meet the Composer, performed at the Beijing Modern Music Festival and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. A recording of the chamber music of composer John H. Wallace, called “Quartet and Friends”, was released in 2016 on Centaur Records.
Victor Cayres
Described by La Liberté as “spirit of a leader!” (Fribourg, Switzerland), Brazilian pianist Victor Cayres has earned praise for concerts with the Sine Nomine string quartet and as soloist with such orchestras as the Boston Pops and Brno Philharmonic in the Czech Republic. A recent winner of the 8th Iowa Piano Competition and the 18th Leoš Janáček Competition, he has been a guest artist at Banff Center for the Arts (Alberta, Canada), Interlochen Center for the Arts (Michigan), and Boston University Tanglewood Institute. He has released recording for Albany Records (works by David Owens), Parma Records (works by Joseph Summer and Charles Ives), and Centaur Records (works by John H. Wallace). Mr. Cayres frequently performs in Brazil, Europe, and in prestigious concert halls across the U.S., such as Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Preston Bradley Hall in Chicago, Jordan Hall and Symphony Hall in Boston. He currently serves on the piano faculty at Boston University School of Music.
