Williamstown, the home of Williams College, is the starting place for a tour which can cover most of the outstanding features of the northern section of Berk- shire County. Located on the Williams College Campus is the Chapin Library of Rare Books in Stetson Hall. On permanent display at the Chapin Library are original copies of the Four Founding Documents of the United States.

Susan B. Anthony lived in Adams only during the first six years of her life. Nevertheless, her belief in women’s rights, temperance and abolitionism have origins in the Hoosac Valley.
In the late 1760s, Quakers and Baptists from Rhode Island settled the wilderness of the Hoosac River Valley headwaters.
